Multi-dimensional effects of COVID-19 in Tourism Market

Whole world is affected and fighting against Corona virus COVID-19 pandemic. Effects are already noticed in global economy. Tourism market, however is the really vulnerable so far.

All international flights are either suspended or reducing the number of flights. Civil aviation authority of Nepal itself will make arrival restrictions for the flights from Europe, West Asia, and all the gulf countries, Turkey, Malaysia, South Korea and Japan ( 20th March,2020 till 12th April, 2020).

Government of Nepal is taking various initiatives to prevent spread the pandemic. Foreigners entering to Nepal after 14th March , 2020 are subjected for self quarantine for 14 days before applying Trekking permits/ TIMS Card. The famous Merriot Hotel of Naxal, Kathmandu announced to close the Hotel till they publish next notice and same action taken by Namche Hotel and Lodge entrepreneur Association of Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest.

Touristic areas Such as Thamel of Kathmandu, Lakeside of Pokhara and Sauraha of Chitwan are empty. Situation is far more worse than it was during the nasty earthquake in Nepal in year 2015.
