Pokhara, 21 May-2020. Frizzey Light ( non- profit Organisation) of Austria was not much heard in Pokhara. Yesterday’s event in Pokhara organized by Frizzey Light brought the organisation into limelight . Tshering Lama Sherpa; a young tourism entrepreneur who is associated with Lama Reisen Tours, Treks and Expedition (P) Ltd and Country representative of Frizzey Light initiated food and daily essentials distribution program for needy families in Pokhara under the banner of Frizzey Light Verein. Many people from the Society were curious to know who they are. Their contribution and courtesy to the society in tough time has been well praised.
Handicapped people, Single mothers and most vulnerable people are often neglected during difficult time. The grassroot level workers such as Trekking and mountain expedition porters, kitchen boys, helpers, mule chasers, Hotel/Motel and restaurant workers are jobless at the moment due to global pandemic of Corona virus. Government Subsidies are none or very minimal for these people because nation itself is struggling to cope with the situation. 113 such families received food and daily essentials support which will help them to survive whilst nation wide lock down is ongoing.
Frizzey Greif; a great artist, composer, musician and above all a great soul with love, humanity and empathy is from Austria. There are some geographical similarity between Nepal and Austria. It’s a country of rugged Mountains and mesmerising landscape. Some of the best and renowned Mountaineers in the world are from this beautiful country.
Mr. Frizzey founded FRIZZEY LIGHT in 1997 and has been managing the organisation since 2014 with his partner Christine Jarosch. Mr Frizzey and his team visited Nepal first time in 2014 but their recent visit is 7th trip to Nepal ever since.
After 2015 earthquake in Nepal, Frizzey Light supports reached and distributed to 38 various locations of rural Nepal which includes Dolpa, Jumla, Kalikot and Mugu districts as well.
Frizzey Light helps building School, social amenities such as aged shelter, medicine and medical treatment through healthcare Camps . Collected donations are used to produce Jackets, sleeping bags, hats, school bags with School supplies and basic needs of people.
For past five years, Tshering Lama Sherpa visited Austria to participate in fundraising event such as Cooking and preparing meals for donors and delivering lecture as Nepal representative.
We must honour and salute these people who work beyond political borders for humanity. These are the true heroes and global citizens.
